200 moments of life

While watching the man complete that single of a lifetime, with tears of passion in his eyes, one is forced to think 'god doesn't cry, does he?' So why is that I believe so.

Embarrassed to shed tears of joy in front of others around me, i moved into my room while contemplating as to how could a human do what this Icon just did. Is it that he is over talented and no one can achieve that target.

Just to my realization it dawned upon me - No he isn't god. Or probably he could be but what he just did was not something which required the power of a bison or the eye of an eagle. I mean we always say that Sehwag would score a double ton, or it could be Ponting, yuvraj or anyone for that matter. (And now that it been broken by someone, many others would get there..) Then why wasn't it one of them? to be fair they have been given more than 200 opportunities each.

The answer is simple. They aren't Sachin Tendulkar. They might be as talented as him and probably have more muscle power and the timing. But when one man plays for 50 overs, runs for over 400 runs, 2 years after he should have retired (as some say)... then you know that it is not the talent that has made him achieve this, but his will, determination, and passion for the game.

Take this in any form of your life. You might not be the best in your life at what you do, or wish to do. For instance kamli as claimed by sachin's coach was more talented than sachin. When there is a person who plays alongside you since childhood and your coach, your teacher, your mentor, the person who you look at for motivation, tells you that that batsmen is better than you, what would you do..? What would i do...? Get dejected, cry, leave playing, do an MBA...?

This man chooses to get into the highest form of the game against the best bowling attack presently and score that 200; silently making his coach cry by achieving what no man could till date.

There will be many who score 200 runs in one day cricket now. But there wont be a person who can wait 20 years to gain experience, to better his talent, to practice and become better day after day, with age being no constraint. There wont be a person who breaks records not on the basis of talent, but on the basis of pure determination. There wont be a person who can stay modest after achieving all one can. There wont be a person who does not think that achieving something is difficult just because no one else has got there. there wont be a person who is respected by the total population who know that cricket is not just an insect. there wont be a man who can make a billion people feel the way they felt on 24th of Feburary 2010. There wont be a Sachin Tendulkar.
